We celebrated Dr. Seuss day on Monday. We started the morning with an assembly, where my students participated in a skit about the life of Dr. Seuss. They did a great job! After that it was my turn. The teachers enacted the story "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" We each sounds that we were supposed to act out as the story was read by none other than Mr. Brown (who transformed himself into the cat in the hat after the assembly.) My parts were the
squeaky shoe and the sizzling egg. It was a lot of fun, and the students really enjoyed it. The best part was listening to the preschoolers making the noises whenever Sam said "Mr. Brown can do it, how about you."
After the assembly we divided each of the classes into six groups. Each group, which contained students from preschool through second grade, spent the rest of the morning rotating through centers that were set up for different Dr. Seuss books. I had a new student, so I kept him in my group, which meant that out of 12 kids, I only knew 1! Yikes, it was a day with a huge learning curve, but it was a lot of fun.

and what is better than trying something so creative that you have to go out on a limb? How much fun is that!
