Praise and Prayer
So much to say, and so little time to say it (cuz I need to be in bed right now!) Tonight was homegroup. We talked about pictures the Bible gives of the church. My group talked about the church as a body. We had a lot of discussion, but I wanted to share my favorite part with all of you. We were talking about how the body is identified by the head. If you see a body, without a head, you don't know who it is, it could be Mr. A or Mr. B. But, with the head, the body is easily identified. The same should be true of us. As Christians, our aim should be to be identified with the head (Christ). The head is also the part that controls the body, thinks, and makes the decisions. It should be the same in the church (and in us.) Christ should be the one in charge, the one making the decisions and controlling where the body goes and what it does. Cool picture huh?
After our discussions we had prayer time. A friend shared about a miracle God worked in her family this week. On Friday, her 3 boys went in for their vaccinations. On the way home, her oldest was complaining about his ears hurting. She thought he was just whiny from the shots, until a few minutes later, when he had his shirt off, his seat belt undone, and his body was breaking out in hives. She quickly dropped the two other boys off, and took her eldest (5) back to the hospital. Upon arriving, he quickly went limp. They called in a team of specialists, and kicked Sylvia out. They told her that she needed to leave so they could necessitate her son. She fell before the Lord praying, and God miraculously healed little Barack. What a testimony!
