Mandy's Adventures

This has been an exciting, but tiring week. My students worked hard learning about Brazil, and once they got over the fact that it wasn't any of their countries, really enjoyed it. Thursday we made a poster about all of the things we had learned. They had so much information that we had to go and beg for a second poster board to finish our display! Friday for chapel, we did a prayer walk. Each class had been studying a different country, and had made posters, including prayer requests. It was so precious to hear my students pray for people they have never met, asking God to help the people that live there understand His Word, and have it in their own languages. Last night was international night. Many parents prepared food and cultural things from their home countries. We turned the outside basketball courts into different regions, and people were able to literally eat and visit their way around the world. Some of the booths had feasts including satay, somasas, sushi, and much much more. Guess what was at the booth for the USA......hot dogs and PB&J.....Ah, the good old USA. Today we met for our first worship practice for church. It was a little intimidating, but a lot of fun. There were seven guitars, many people who played the keyboard, a bass, and a few singers. We broke up into smaller groups and ran through a few songs, just seeing where everyone was comfortable. Then, when we were finished, we all sat around and sang together, worshiping God. It still amazes me how many cultures can be together in one room, praising God together! I love it. Here are a few pictures of some of the highlights of the week. Hope you enjoy!
